Different paths for different users; what is the best way to handle?

I really need to give myself a little more credit. Thanks for your help Geoff. I was able to get the UNC to work on my end. I just need the various users to test the change.

Please pardon my ignorance. I am not familiar with UNC. Would I be replacing ServerName with the name of the network? Thanks

Different paths for different users; what is the best way to handle?

I have a couple of macros where I had set the path in the code, not realizing at the time that because of different rights, not everyone has the same path. Also, it is not good to hard code the path if drive letters and such are eventually changed. For example, one person may have P:\LoanData\...

    .csv file empty; why?

John - I used the above code from another macro I have. For that particular macro the "Save As" did not work because I needed a certain number of commas at the end of the file and though I had selected a range, the Save As was not capturing thoses trailing commas. My macro skills are not strong...

    .csv file empty; why?

I just compared the spreadsheet that was used in August to the spreadsheet that is causing an issue today and one thing that did not work correctly is the validation of a formula causing an error. There is a #REF! error in for one of the records. The following code did not catch that for some...

    Non-zero weighted average

I am using Crystal XI and was wondering is using running total the only and best way to create a weighted average the does not include zero values? The weighted average function includes zero values in the weighting and the user does not want that to happen. Thanks

Access appending of records to SQL not working

I am wondering, if somehow, if a person typed N/A in a date field if that could have damaged the integrity of either Excel spreadsheet or the link to Access? I just noticed a user entered N/A in Excel in a column that is a date in SQL Server.

Access appending of records to SQL not working

We have a proces where users inter information in Excel and Access linked to that data. Access is used to extract that data and append it to a table in SQL Server. The rows get added to SQL Server, however, not all of the data is populated. Looking at the Excel spreadsheet only the data in the...

PowerPoint newbie - can I loop through images on a slide

Hmm..if I were to use 10 individual slides wouldn't I have to click the keyboard to move to each slide and wouldn't it look like the slides are changing? That is not the effect I want. I want to look, for example, as it would if I were on a web page and there is a box or location with imagines...

Oh I made a mistake - 10 "slides" should have been 10 "images" looping through on one slide. Thanks for the feedback though. My mistake (a major one).

We are using BO XI and are sending a file via FTP. The person who is receiving the file would like a naming convention of source_pos_yyyymmdd.txt where yyyymmdd is the current date - 1 or - 3 if the day the report is run is a Monday. Note, the data in the report has the same date criteria. Is...
