Wow cheers Geoff! just stuck on the following bit....
Also, go to the WORKBOOK MODULE and create a workbook_OPEN event (choose "Workbook" from the right side dropdown and it will be automatically created......on the right side the only drop down references "CreateCustomMenu" and "getdata".
How do I create a menu option or commandbar option triggered VBA script to automatically close and re-open a spreadsheet in order to pick up changes made on this spreadsheet by a second user.
Excellent idea that would do it. If in the "display" version I simply included an "update" Command Button which then triggered a very simple script to close and re-open the report that would do it. Does that suggestion warrant you a star Geoff?
Thanks Geoff, I can see how Option 1 would work quite easily although the added complication is that sometimes comments are added to individual cells and I guess these wouldn't be reflected in the "display" sheet? Option 2 may be the best option therefore but I wound't know how I could control...
To explain better....an excel spreadsheet is opened from a common drive location and sits open on a PC in read only mode. Editing of this spreadsheet is then carried out by a second user by opening the same spreadsheet on a different PC. Once this spreadsheet has been edited I would like these...
The admin is simply updating exactly the same spreadhseet which sits on a network drive. It's just that the admin has the priviledges to make changes, whereas to the other users this spreadsheet is always open on a central pc. The intention being that this acts almost like a wallpaper which auto...
I have a spreadsheet which holds roster information that is regularly updated by an administrator. This same spreadsheet sits on a central PC (on the same network) with read only priviledges, and I would like this to automatically update to pick up any changes made by the administrator say every...
Multiply by 24 would be an answer but when I look closer I see that the orginal data is not represented as time data but as a number! So 260 hours 30 minutes is represented 260.30
What I would like to see is something that calculates so 260.30 = 260.5, 12.45 = 12.75, etc.
Thanks Justin
Hi, basically I have a a table of date representing durations and I can't figure out how to convert this into a decimal number. For example 260:30 would output 260.5?
Any ideas?
Thanks Justin
Yep your response to my second part of the query is spot on! Star duly awarded. As part of the Textbox thing, basically what I am wanting to do is enter a value in the Textbox and this value is then used as an integral part of a formula. However like you point out entering a value into the...
Thanks but perhaps I didn't explain to clearly. The text box is not a basic cell, but a true Text Box derived from the Control Toolbox Toolbar. Further to the second part of my query, I wish to superimpose a Text Box (pulled from the Drawing Toolbar) onto a chart, which is fine, but I can't...
Hi a couple of problems I have with text boxes. Firstly I have a blank text box which requests a user to input a value in order that a calculation can be carried out. However once a value (say 20) is manually entered how the hell can I link this value into my formula? Also is it possible to use...
Glenn,
Works fine, I didn't appreciate that you could enter CHAR(225) and CHAR(226)as specific values. Strictly speaking another start type thing is due since this answers an additional query...so here you go!
Thanks again,
Justin
Glenn,
Very clever and simple to implement - works a treat without having to revert to graphics. Star duly awarded! Further to this it would be nice to chage the colour of the arrow character to green if it was up pointing (Char 255) and Reds if it were down pointing (Char 226). Can Excel...
Hi,
Not sure if this is simple or requires complicated VB code, but what I am wanting to do is display an up pointing arrow image if a number value is above a certain level and a down pointing arrow image if a number is below a certain level?
Thanks,
Justin
Skip,
I Did e-mail the following response......
"Can't thank you enough for this.....solving my problem with adding the line graph was more than I could have hoped for, but the AdjustChartAxis routine is fantastic, even more so when you consider you have got the adjustment linked to...
