    CAT5e distances/repeaters

I can't afford to run fibre plus I am using an existing 3Com 4400SE switch with a 1000BaseSX module to link to the fibre in the basement. The CAT5 will then connect to the switch. Can I use a hub/switch to act as a repeater before the cable reaches the basement without losing any bandwidth?

Thanks for replying but I think the panic's over. The problem seems to have been a network one. As a test I changed the port on the hub that the server is plugged into and bingo, they are all now running the logon scripts and creating new users based on the defualt profile. Thanks again. Terry

I have setup roaming profiles and logon scripts for the users on one of the NT4.0 servers. Only one win2000 machine is able to use the default user profile and the logon script...

I want to setup a template that all outbound internet mail messages will use. The template is to inform contacts that our email addresses have changed and I don't want to have to setup individual signatures through Outlook or to have to coach the users on how to edit their signatures. Is there...
