I don't know what that was, but when I ran the command "Sfc /Scannow", it must have fixed it because I no longer get the error messages. I didn't even have to put in my XP disk.
What was that? What was going on? I've been troubleshooting that for about a week. Nobody had a clue.
I keep getting the same error message: "The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\TAPI32.dll is not a valid Windows image...". It happens when I open Norton, SpySweeper, Task Manager, etc. What does it mean (yes, I know DLL means Dynamic Link Library) and how do I fix it? I'm getting the...
I brought it to work and had the computer guys hook it up to their computers and it worked fine. They suggested I then try re-seating the video card, which I did, but it didn't solve the problem. If the monitor worked at work, and re-seating the video card did nothing, then my guess is it's...
My monitor is now showing gray lines of varying thickness all across and up and down my screen. Since this monitor is about 4 or 5 years old (17 inch), could it simply be going out, or is it more likely a video card problem (which is only about 2 years old)? The monitor also seems to be...
Whenever I click on any program (IE for example), and while it's loading, my cursor seems to stick or gets delayed while scrolling around the screen.
I've tried canceling my screensaver to see if it was causing it (a program running in the background), but that didn't help.
Thanks for the help. I reloaded the patch and the error message is gone. But, I'm now having a new problem (see Thread 615-423010). While viewing internet sites with what I call "moving graphics" (I'm sure this isn't the correct term), those same graphics sections of the sites...
While viewing internet sites with what I call "moving graphics" (I'm sure this isn't the correct term), those same graphics sections of the sites flicker while the action in them is happening.
Also, my mouse's cursor seems jerky and delayed. I've tried downloading (again) the...
Thanks a lot for your help. But, I have another question for you. How do I uninstall IE 6? I want to take it off then re-install it.
Do you think this will take care of my problem? I keep getting that error message, no matter what I'm doing (whether I'm on the internet or not).
I just re-installed Win 98 from my original CD. Since then, and after upgrading my IE to V 6.0, I keep getting the above error message and the program has to be "shut down", wherein typically IE stops. Is this an IE problem or my Windows Explorer problem, and what do I do to fix it?
