    Prevent users from deleting mail

There are a couple of things that you can do: 1. For your Private Information Store (under your server name), set the retention time of deleted items to 30 days. Using Echange Administrator, highlight PIS under your server name, go up to 'File', the click on 'Properties' (it is the same...

    Mailbox Security

I have some suspicion that someone is reading my mail and would like to know if there is a way to secure a mailbox, even from those with specific priveleges. If not, is there a way to audit whether someone is attaching my mailbox to theirs? I am currently using Exchange 5.5. Thanks!

    Browsing Issue

This is a funky problem... We have a trust relationship between 2 NT domains (D1 & D2)...We know it works because we can cross domains and use resources...However, when we log into D1 and use Network Neighborhood, we cannot see D2 at all, yet accessing an admin share from the 'start+run' window...

Thanks everyone, for your input...It was a typo on my part, it could have ben either way, but the third octet was supposed to be the same... Anyhow, he was wrong and I (and you) were correct...He realized it after coming to my workspace and seeing it for himself... Thanks for the feedback...

    Outgoing ACL

Just a general question...I was reviewing one of our router ACLs and discovered that none of the interfaces specify our outgoing ACL (101) as applying to them...Our incoming ACL (100) is applied to a specific port, but not 101...Does this make 101 an implied ACL for the same port that uses 100...

    Attaching Mailboxes...

I know that it is possible for administrators (or those with equivilant prvileges) to add another user's mailbox to their own...But is it possible to block this feature, or get a notification that an administrator has added your mailbox to theirs? Thanks!

Anyone know how to permit ESP (protocol 50) to pass through a Gauntlet Firewall? No problem with creating plugs for ports, but I'm stumped on how to do it for protocols. Thanks.

    Adding to an ACL

Can I add statements to an existing ACL without wiping out the whole ACL? I thought if you attempted to add a line while in privileged mode, you would effectively overwrite the current ACL. Is that true, and if so, how can you add a line? Thanks.

    Activating ESP through the ACL

I would like my router to pass IPSec packets through UDP port 500 using protocol 50 (ESP). Do I write this in my ACL 100/101 (in/out ACLS) to allow traffic to pass in both directions? If so, would it be: Access-list 100 permit 50 host a.b.c.d host e.f.g.h eq 500 Access-list 101 permit 50 host...

    Cisco 2514 Interface Problem

Okay, I am really stumped, and this is probably an easy fix, but here goes: Cisco 2514 Router e0 (with a transceiver)- 229.2.245.188 255.255.255.252 (up state) conneted to a PC (229.2.245.189 255.255.255.252) s0 - 229.2.245.183 255.255.255.252(up state) connected to a cisco 7200 (interface...

    IP addressing problem (Overlapping)

I am trying to configure SER2/1 with 123.4.567.8 255.255.255.224 and get the following message "123.4.567.0 overlaps with Fastethernet0/0". If I change the subnet mask for SER2/1 to 255.255.255.240, same result. If I change the last octet to .248, I get "Bad Mask /29 for...

    Fiber termination

The round uplinks are for ST connectors, and the square uplinks are for SC connectors. SC connectors are, obviously, square and use a push-on pull-off connection, and you'll know that it is seated properly when it "clicks", or locks in place. SC connectors are usually associated more...
