How to Access PDF sections to Reduce Bandwidth Load?

I am hoping that there is an API provided by Adobe that allows one to link to, and download, a particular section of a pdf. In Acrobat there is an Extract Pages tool, so they have exposed this functionality to Acrobat. Does anyone know if this is exposed to developers as well? Thanks in advance!!

How to Access PDF sections to Reduce Bandwidth Load?

Thanks! I see that these methods allow you to open an entire PDF to a particular page. Is there a way to link from an HTML page to a section of the PDF (e.g. download only pages 11-25 of a 500 page PDF file to your browser)?

How to Access PDF sections to Reduce Bandwidth Load?

I have built a web-based application that (among other things) provides links to PDFs sitting on my server. Some of the PDFs are several hundred pages long, though, so I would like to create customized links that download Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, etc, as well as a link that downloads...

Can't connect to sproc exposed as a web service

SQL Server Warriors, I used the Configure IIS Support program of SQLXML 3.0 to expose a stored procedure as a web service. As expected, two files are generated and saved in the inetpub/wwwroot/ subfolder that I specified - a .ssc and .wsdl file. In Infopath, the first step of connecting to a...

    Best Handheld DBA Software?

DBAs, Does anyone have a favorite handheld DBA software? I would love to be able to check logs, jobs and agents, as well as view DB structure (tables, fields) and work with my DBs in a handheld version of the Query Analyzer. I might be able to take a "vacation" if this exists. Ken

How to find "," and replace with ", "

I have field populated with values like "Oklahoma,Texas,Kansas" - words separated by commas. I want to add a space after to commas to that carriage returns will work, changing the above value to "Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas". What SQL command will do this?

    Check Boxes for Member Selection?

CA PRO Gurus, Is it possible to place check boxes next to each member in a row or column, and then allow the user to select a check box next to members to do member selection? The current Member Selecter, which drops down when the user selects the little arrow next to the field name, is a...

Command Buttons in a Crystal Report?

Dear Gurus, Crystal Reports allows some run-time interactivity (subreports, drill-downs) but seems to limit the interface options for initiating this interactivity to existing CR objects (text, chart objects). In Crystal Analysis you can add command buttons. Is it possible to add command...

Can you save data with a subreport at runtime?

When calling an on-demand subreport at runtime, is it possible (within the .rpt file or with code) to also save the report with data? This would allow frustrated CR 9 developers to export subreports (a feature touted in CR 9, but not actually exposed to developers). Ken Archer Telogical...

Reports of Death of UFLs with CR9 have been greatly exaggerated

Thanks KenHamady. The custom function seems to be stored (at least in my installation of CR9) in the OR_OBJECTDETAILS32 table of the Repository_en.mdb Access database. The Contents field, in particular, simply saves the code used to make the custom function. So creating a program to append...

Reports of Death of UFLs with CR9 have been greatly exaggerated

dgillz said it more clearly that I did. It doesn't look like alot of Tek-Tips users have played with CR9 yet. I for one was thrilled with the prospect of distributing custom functions created within CR, and disappointed to find that maybe Crystal Decisions promotion of this feature as...

Reports of Death of UFLs with CR9 have been greatly exaggerated

I was told by CR support that the custom functions in CR9 behave almost identically to UFLs, in particular that custom functions create a .dll file just like UFLs. But I have been unable to find where in the Windows or Crystal Reports file structures new custom functions are saved, and...

Can CR9 Custom Functions be moved to other PCs like UFLs?

I was told by a CR support rep that the custom functions in CR9 behave almost identically to UFLs, in particular that custom functions create a .dll file just like UFLs. But I have been unable to find where in the Windows or Crystal Reports file structures new custom functions are saved, and...

DTS doesn't like my the time values in my Access date/time field

When I run my MS Access 2000 150-table database through DTS, the only thing that fails is two tables. The error message lest certain fields and says "Status 6: Data Overflow. Invalid Character Value for Cast Specification". Well, the fields listed are the only date/time fields in...

    Exporting Reports

Does version 8.5.0.77 of u2fhtml.dll (the Export to HTML DLL) not work either? CR claims that this release of the dll works.

    Where is DHTML Viewer Documentation?

The people at Crystal Decisions tell me that the DHTML Viewer is the Web Viewer of the future for Crystal Reports. It's one of the main "What's New" features of CR8.5. If the DHTML Viewer provides the same functionality as the ActiveX Viewer, but with zero-client, I would get excited...
