Just in case you hadn't found it, there is a new command in WindowsXP,
called DISKPART. Haven't really figured out all it does, or how to use it, but it
is there.

I got WindowsXp Pro to run in 640X480, by accident. Just delete whatever your video is within the device manager. I had to do it several times, or it simply re-installed my previous drivers, but occasionally it would come up in std VGA mode, at 640X480.

Your suggestion re: a 98 Windows boot disk seems fine, with at least one exeption.
You mention copying format, Fdisk, etc to the disk.
I cannot find "FDISK" within WindowsXP.
Is it still there, and can you advise as to how to locate it?
