OOPS My bad, I had the wrong kind of mouse. I was using a PS2 insted of a PS2/Serial mouse. Problem solved.

I am starting with a fresh install of the OS (win 2k adv server) and cannot get the mouse to install. It is a serial mouse. The mouse is on com1. It will not do any thing. I have tried the mouse on a differnt machine and it works in a PS2 plug. I am using an adapter to connect to the serial port.

I have checked this the server verson is capable of performing this operation. Thanks for the info. J Brook

I am running win NT 4.0 with backup exec 6.1 and win 98 workstations. The workstations have the correct backup exec agent installed and running but the server is not recognizing them. all workstations are visable on the network but the backup program cannot see them.

Doug P I checked these things and found them to be installed and it still does not work.

An example is ="Printed on " & Format(Now(),"dd mmm yyyy") The format function is not reconized

when I upgraded to access 2009 functions in my database such as format() for dates is not recognized. I encountered this before when updating in access 97 but was able to fix it by refreshing the links in the code module. This does not work now.
