It IS possible to get around the problem the way you mentioned, I had already tried that, but it's kind of a lame way out... They shouldn't have had a mistake like this in XP... for the rest I love it ;)

Too true, I had to flash my Abit GF2MX400 as well just to get windows xp to install! Then I had to flash my mobo-bios as well to get rid of the NV4_DISP.DLL BSOD problem...

Umm are you sure you're not just renaming the file's extension? Try renaming it to .jpg and then opening it...
