Generate e-mail from address book field

I have managed to generate a blank e-mail by using the hyperlink field as a button but cannot get it to automatically enter the contents of the 'e-mail address' field. I suspect I need to redesign the form so that the hyperlink I have created becomes the actual input field for each e-mail...

Generate e-mail from address book field

That's the gist of it. I need just the individual e-mail addresses entered the data field. Ideally I want just to double click on each entry to generate a blank e-mail to its addressee. Others have suggested building an event (or macro?) which is called up by double clicking on the field but...

Generate e-mail from address book field

You ARE a patient person! The data field is just that - it is a text field and the database has various e-mail addresses entered in this field which I want to use to generate e-mails. As I say, if I configure it as a hyperlink then it automatically appends an http address to the end of each...

Generate e-mail from address book field

Hello again. Sorry if I'm confusing you - hard not to do unless I write a lengthy account of what I have been up to. As I say, I just want to be able to double click on any given e-mail address to generate a blank e-mail. If I configure each field as a hyperlink in table/design view it...

Generate e-mail from address book field

Moby - This is brilliant - thanks - the furthest I have got so far, mostly because people usually seem to assume that I know precisely what they are talking about. I am still stuck though insofar as I need the readout of each individual e-mail field to remain unaffected by additional commands...

Generate e-mail from address book field

Thanks for the message but I am still getting nowhere. I have created a personal address book using Access and one of the fields is 'e-mail address'. I want to be able to double click on each individual entry to generate a blank e-mail to that person. I have tried generating a hyperlink using...

I want to be able to double click on an e-mail address in an access address book and automatically generate a blank e-mail in Outlook to that person. Someone please help. I have tried and tried, even with advice from the forum, but never quite crack the problem Vic Blake

Data Entry Form - Not Working!

Thanks for all the help. I have tried everything you suggest but nothing seems to work. Its A2K, as you say, but the refresh option doesn't do anything and, as I say, it will only save into the table view if I exit from the database completely and then re-open. You suggest compact and repair...

Data Entry Form - Not Working!

OK. It seems like the information IS saving across to the tabel from the data entry form, but only after I close down. Therefore, if I want an overview of what I have entered I cannot do this unless I close Access. I have tried saving using the save button on the form and using the save option...

Data Entry Form - Not Working!

The table view is in the same database as the data entry form, in other words it is not a linked database (the table view simply allows me a quick overview of the contents but it is also the source upon which all reports are based).

Data Entry Form - Not Working!

I have a simple address book database and have designed a data entry form in Form View. This was working fine but after transferring all my files to my new computer the information saved in this form is not now saved elsewhere in the database (for example in table view). What has happened and...

Can anyone help? I have customised a data entry form in Access and have programmed various buttons such as New Record, Save etc. But I cannot get the Delete button to work and have completely forgotten how to do it and what the syntax is. Please help someone!! Vic Blake

    All Labels Do Not Print

Thanks. Problem now solved. I got there by reducing the top and bottom margin sizes as suggested, though it does leave the text slightly scrunched up to the top of each label.

How do I send emails in Outlook from hyperlinks

I want to be able to send an e-mail by clicking on an hyperlink in Access. Any suggestions?

    Cannot Open access file

One possibility is that - especially if you saved your last piece of work using the Save As command - you may have appended the wrong file extension to your database file. Worth a check anyway.
