Thanks a great deal! (Especially DanielMark above!)
Thought I was lost with the backup I had prior to my laptop being stolen, and didn't want to spend >$300 to get my data. A wonderful utility ntbkup.exe!
Here's the command line entry that worked for me (same as above). Make sure you do a...
Go to the Toolchest, "System", "System Manager", select "Security and Access Control", and then select "Configure Auto Login". Disable the setting.
Also do a man autologin, and read up!
Enjoy! ::-)

Solved my issue!
Turned out to be a poor switch connection.
I could ping packet sizes up to 330 bytes, but lost them after going higher. This is why browsing didn't work, but ping and nslookup did (very small default packet size). Try forcing a higher packet size.
UNIX: ping -s 1500...

I think this may be a...

Can ping locally and within my intranet (by name or by IP), have correct gateway, DNS servers, proxy, etc. but can't access the internet.
Any help would be appreciated! ::-)

I'm sure you both have tried this already, but make sure the tape device is powered on before starting your system.
My SGI autodetects / mounts the tape once inserted, but it does not detect it if the drive is powered off on startup. I've also had luck with inserting a known good tape in the...
I am behind a corporate firewall, I DO have my proxy set up correctly in Netscape, but can't browse my local OR external web sites.
I can ping (and nslookup) local machines and others on the LAN; firewall prevents pinging (and nslookup) outside of intranet.
Running SGI IRIX (unix - SVR4 based)...

Octane w/6.5.16f IRIX, corporate LAN behind firewall.
In order to utilize this SGI, I had to move this system (it had been idle - shutdown) from another room to my desk, and also get a new IP address from our IT dept. due to a...
