I have searched the Net for a definitive answer to this question, no luck, so here it is:
I have a system BIOS which does not and never will support 48 bit LBA (IDE HDD > 137Gb), however I have a 200Gb HDD I would like to install.
If I update Win2K to address 48 bit, and purchase a 48 bit ATA...
You should be able to format the drive right from Admin Tools-Computer Management-Disk Management module - check there first to see if the drive is shown. If it is you need to format and assign a drive letter.
If it's not shown there then you might have a (pretty old) BIOS, or USB problem.
If you're using Windows (in this case 2000): 'Make a New Connection' in Network Places, choose 'Connect Directly to Another Computer' and follow the instructions.
You have to have the proper connection cable!
