Hi Jungles,
Sorry, but we never did get to the bottom of this one. The problem hasn't recurred since my original posting, so I didn't delve any further, I'm afraid. However, if I do get any more info I'll be sure to add it to the thread :)
Managed to work it out, so here's the solution for anyone who is interested:
In table design view set the Data Type of the relevant field to Lookup Wizard and start working your way through the wizard when the window appears.
Select to lookup values in a table or query. As I say in my post...
I have created a database that holds information about all of the PCs in our office. We filter these PCs down through our employees so that a PC belonging to a support analyst one year will be given to an office administrator the next, etc. I want to include a facility in the database that...
Probably being really thick here, but here goes:
I'm trying to create a field that looks up the key field of the table that it is in (ie so that the table references itself). However, when I work my way through the lookup wizard in the table design view, I am only invited to select fields from...
Hi,
Our users all have McAfee VirusScan set up to scan the C drive on startup. Over the last few days a number of them have reported the following error message appearing when McAfee attempts to run the scan:
The item < > to scan is not valid. Please make sure that you have spelled the...
One of our users is having problems with his Microsoft Outlook account. An email he sent to a client several weeks ago keeps resending itself to the client.
The user has not created any rules and has not knowingly messed about with the configuration of Outlook.
Does anyone have any idea...
I'm trying to create a field that represents time in days, hours, minutes and seconds in such a way that, if the number of hours goes beyond 24, a unit will be added to the day section. Eg:
00:22:15 - 0 days, 22 hours and 15 minutes
16:04:13 - 16 days, 4 hours and 13 minutes
ie a...
Hi there,
Does anybody know of any free online tutorials for Crystal Reports. I've just downloaded the evaluation software for Version 9 and I'm struggling to gt to grips with it, having never used any version of Crystal Reports before.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Jamie
I have never heard of an "Exchange Server" so I would presume that we do not have this facility. My office network is peer-to-peer (if this info is of any help) and we are using the following version of Outlook:
Microsoft Outlook 2000-SR1 Corporate or Workgroup
If an exchange server...
My office runs an Access DB across a peer-to-peer network. This DB consists of an Access file containing all the tables for the database, stored upon one workstation. All other workstations have a database containing the other DB components (queries, forms, macros etc) which are linked to the...
Hi,
I am trying to set up Microsoft Outlook on our office network so that all Outlook accounts on the network refer to one centralised Contacts list. Does anyone know if this is possible and, if so, what the best way to do this would be.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Tried Celeste's solution, but it transfers not just the address book, but also any emails, tasks, etc from the source version of Outlook, overwriting those previously held in the destination version. Thanks for the tip though, this is handy to know for backup purposes.
Skip's solution sounds...
Is there a straightforward way that the Outlook address book from one version of Outlook can be transferred to another version? (Our office does not have a server but we require all of our workstations to be able to reference the same address book)
I have recently been trying to use permissions on MS Access, and as a result have run into the following problem:
Whenever I open Access on my workstation (even to create a new db) I get a prompt for a password and user name. I have tried every possible user name and password combination I...
Hi Benny,
Sorry for not replying to the thread for so long, I've only just checked it since writing my original response.
I'm not sure that I entirely understand the description of your problem, but I'll have a crack at it anyway.
As I interpret your thread, you want to create a listbox...
When opening forms, running macros and performing a number of other tasks using the MS Access db I have designed, the db refuses to perform the requested task and displays the following error message:
"Error accessing file. Network connection may have been lost"
I have consulted MS...
Create a macro that runs whenever the After Update property of your list box is fired. The macro should consist of an OpenReport action that has the View value Print (to print the report immediately). Impose conditions on the OpenReport action to open different types of report depending on the...
Have managed to solve the problem. Removed the short date input mask that was on the text box and saved the database. Then after closing and reopening the db I reapplied the same input mask. Now the dates are not amended by Access and remain the way they should be.
This is rather strange...
