    Envelope templates

James, brilliant! I simply copied over my skwnv2.skw from my notebook and overwrote the installed file and it works beautifully. I am good for another ten years on Sidekick 98.

    Envelope templates

I recently upgraded to Windows 7 and my Sidekick 98 seems to be working just fine, except for the "Print Envlopes" command. It will not save information I enter into the #10 Envelope template, nor will it save any other template information. It used to! I can change the text, move the margins...

Strange Characters Occur When Typing New Event in SK98

Dear Friends, I wrote an FAQ on this subject sometime ago, but apparently it has disappeared. I located the problem in the Rundll32.exe file. When I downloaded Windows Service Pack 1, this process no longer displayed in the Windows Task Manager and the calendar worked fine on the offending...

Garbage characters inserted in Calendar Event entry

Some Windows applications apparently require "Rundll32.exe" application to run in the background. The Windows Rundll32 Program is used to run DLLs as programs and is used by many programs to execute functions located in a DLL file. By terminating this process using Windows Task Manager, the...

    SK98--WinXP Problem

Jim, What happened to Thread807-303935? I posted what I beleive to be an answer to the calendar problem and the whole discussion seems to have disappeared. By comparing all three PC's, two of which were handling calendar events fine, I located the problem in the Rundll32.exe file. When I...

Is Sidekick 98 compatible with Pocket PC Or Palm?

Yes, I synched my Sidekick 98 data with Palm Pilot. One problem, however. I had to merge my cardfiles into one, before hotsynching, since it did not seem to accomodate multiple address books. Someone else, may have more data on this however.

    SK98--WinXP Problem

Forgot to mention: All three PCs are running Windows XP: The two that work run Windows XP Pro and Home respectively; the aberrant PC runs XP Home. Thus, it does not appear to be an XP problem. Hope this helps. Jack

    SK98--WinXP Problem

I am not that knowledgeable about display drivers, but I have a similar, if not identical, problem on one of the three PC's with which I run Sidekick. In my case, three characters of nonsense are inserted before an entered even--and yes, I can backspace through them to eliminate them. I...

    ALERT Starfish stopped supporting!!!!!!!

I just discovered the Truesync.com component, i.e. internet access to uploaded Sidekick 98 files, will be discontinued as of December 23, 2002.

    Sidekick 95,98,99 and Windows XP

I, too, was waiting for someone else to answer this. However, I could not wait any longer and have Sidekick 98 installed on two machines running XP and I have had no issues whatsoever. ToDo's and Calls are forwarded just as they were on Win98. BTW, thanks to James33 for your vigilant...
