    Thanks to gpalmer711 and rick998. I certainly hope that evesham will just say, "send the drive back, you've suffered enough!", when I get to speak to them. They did not mention fdisk, but they did ask me to do the full chkdsk which I did assume would do this; I may be wrong. I will report back...
