    Multiple SQL databases

Never mind! I love this forum. They make you work for your answers. :-) I managed to search through the SQL programming forum and I managed to find a way to create a view with a linked server and I actually got it to work. So now I am back in Crystal and it looks like my view is actually...

    Multiple SQL databases

Really showing my lack of experience here....... I got a view created from multiple tables from multiple databases on one SQL server. Now, how can I create one view, on one server, that contains ASTU tables from SQL server 1 databases AND SQL server 2 databases. PS I love the help. It has...

    Multiple SQL databases

I may be missing something here. Do I add all of the databases into my report? If I start adding multiple databases, my Show SQL Query disappears. Or do I just add in my primary database into the report and then just type in the other ones in my SQL Query and is Crystal smart enough to know to...

    Multiple SQL databases

I sure hope that this will be a simple solution. I know that I have gotten TONS of help on here before. Here is my setup. CR 8.5 pulling from SQL2000 using ODBC connection. My knowledge of SQL is small and my knowledge on CR is basically what I have taught myself from reading through books and...

    Calculating Age

Shoot, actually, it is a typo in both, my post and in the report. I am not sure why CR did not complain about this when I did the formula, but I just added in those two simple semi colons and all is well. Thank you for pointing out the easy fix! :-)

    Calculating Age

Nothing. That is the problem. Absolutely nothing shows up in my report. CR claims there is nothing wrong with the formula, but my report remains blank. If I put the second formula in my report right next to the first formula, I get results there, but nothing on the first one.

    Calculating Age

CR 8.5 pulling from SQL2000 data through ODBC connection. Okay, I have searched this site and I did get the formulas for calculating age and at first I thought that my problems were solved. However, I started looking through my results and I noticed that my age is not calculating correctly. I...

    Linking pictures in a report

Okay, I am a bit confused on how you get a BLOB into your report. I have tried the 8.5 book and I have even looked in the Complete Reference guide for 8.5 and they mention a BLOB but don't really say how you get a BLOB into your report. Can anyone help me with this?

    Linking pictures in a report

The graphics are stored in a table within the database somewhere. We get a disk from our photographers which has the students ID with picture name in one folder and the pictures in another. The program looks at the text file and matches the pictures according to the students ID's and then...

    Linking pictures in a report

I have CR 8.5 and I am pulling information from SQL through ODBC connections. I haven't quite figured out how this program is storing pictures, but I wanted to see if this could be a possibility. In our school district, we have a program called SASI that we use to store all of our student...

    Removing duplicates

There is a creation date, but we can't pull from that either. One school could of been on the ball and got these kids enrolled that day and another school could of taken a day or two to enter them in. (The joys of working in a school district where there is no control! :-) We have been running...

    Removing duplicates

Here is a better picture of the data. We are a school district with 22 different schools and a district office. Each school has its own SQL database and so does the District Office. (23 total databases) Each school database contains tables like ASTU4XXX, APRN4XXX, etc, etc. The only thing that...

    Removing duplicates

Here is where I run into an issue. With 22 different databases and well over 100 different people entering in information, the addresses might not be the same. So it might look like 5554422 Jane Doe 4860 Makebelieve Dr Fargo, ND 58104 5554422 Jane Doe 4860 Makebelieve Drive Fargo, ND 58104...

    Removing duplicates

I am running CR 8.5 pulling data from SQL 2000 through ODBC. I have a set of mailing labels that is pulling information from a consolidated file. This file is ASTU4D50. In this field I have.... Family Number Parent Name Address City, State Zip I have suppressed the Family Number because I do...

    Combining SQL Tables

I am running CR 8.5 accessing SQL 2000 databases through ODBC connections. Okay, this may be beyond my scope of expertise right now, but I have a problem. (And everything I have learned has been through this site and lots of reading)I have 22 different SQL databases all with approximately the...

    Changing Data Tables Easily?

Here is where my experience is very low. SQL. Here is what I do know. We have SQL databases that were created as just blank, empty, default, databases. Then we have a student information system (called SASI) that use to be ran in dbase format. With a program called XPODBC, it went through and...

    Changing Data Tables Easily?

It's been a while since I have been here. Good to see the helpful information is still flowing! Here is my setup. I am running CR 8.5 against SQL2000 databases through ODBC connections and I have around 24 SQL databases. For each database I have approximately 13 reports setup as of right now...

    Array Tables

Let me elaborate a bit more on that "cell" of information. The 20030908 shows you that there was an attendance reason on September 8th of 2003. The "K" is our symbol to represent that it was a parent request and that is positioned in an all day field on our SIS (student information system) Then...

    Array Tables

Well, I put the version of Crystal, the database, the connectivity at the beginning of my post. CR 8.5 pulling data from SQL2000 through ODBC. Here is what we call an array. We have an attendance table that is titled something like 'AATP3006' In that table you have 14 columns and basically...

    Array Tables

CR 8.5 running reports against SQL2000 databases through ODBC connections. Reading through the Crystal user guide and The Complete Reference Manual for CR 8.5, I can find information on how to create an array table (why you would want to do this is beyond me!) but is there any way to pull...
