Thanks,
I see what your'e saying about creating several specs.
Yes my minimum is 17 fields. If I import a file with more than
17 fields using this spec it imports only the first 17 fields
and gives them the 17 names defiened in the spec. Let's say 3 fields are added in the .txt file so there...
Thanks grnzbra,
No, the spec doesn't change other than the fact that more
fields have to be added.
The .txt file that I import to msAccess is sent to me by someone else. The file can contain 17 fields and sometimes more than that. However, I don't know beforehand how many fields I will get...
Dear All,
I am using docmd.TransferText to import the data from a .txt
file into a msAccess table. The import specification specifies
17 fields to be imported. The problem is that sometimes I want
to import more than 17 fields and sometimes not. I do not know in advance what amount of fields I...
I ended up copying the db to another location and then went to the server and deleted the .ldb and the .mdb. I then rebooted the machine and copied the .mdb back to it's original location.
It seems to have helped even though it wouldn't have been my first choice. I'll let you guys know if...
Thanks all of you guys,
I know that it looks like my comuter is using the file but I checked and double checked. There is no msaccess process running on the machine. I rebooted twice. But to no avail. I feel like just grabbing that dead piece of .ldb out of my screen with my bear hands and...
Thanks wtmckown,
I know this sounds weird but I already checked task manager and there is no msaccess process at all in there. I also tried to reopen the DB and close it again and then delete the .ldb but to no avail. I then rebooted the machine only to find that
same .ldb is just sitting...
Hi all,
I am trying to delete an .ldb file. None of the db's associated with this .ldb are open and I still just can't delete it. I get the error "The source or destination file may be in use". any sollutions, please help.
Thanks natatbh.
Hi TOTCOM11,
How about using the Math.rnd function in a loop, like this
draftOrder = Int((11 - 1 + 1) * Rnd + 1)
to generate numbers 1 - 11. Upon getting each number you populate an array with the length of 11. If draftOrder is 1 then array sub 1 should become 1. When you generate the next...
Hi BobChesh,
First of all use an image as I told you before. You can store addresses to your pictures in a text field in your DB, such as
"C:\Documents and Settings\naftalif\My Documents\My Pictures\Sample.jpg"
All you then have to do is create an empty image control on your form...
Hi sunnywink,
Would also like to know if the amount of data being entered
into your database has grown to larger amounts lately.
Also do you constantly compact your database?
natatbh
Hi shallman,
On the properties sheet of the sub form set the allow deletions
and allow additions to "NO" and the allow edits property to
"YES".
natatbh
Hi andyukcy,
Create two scheduled tasks.
One would compact your DataBase. ex.
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\MSACCESS.EXE" C:\MyFolder\MyDBase.mdb/compact
The second would call a macro which in turn would call
a function. The function would look like this,
FileCopy...
Hi BobChesh,
I'm just a little bit confused on what your'e trying to do.
Mabey you can explain to me in a little more detail what
you're trying to display on your form. Then I might be
able to give you an idea of how to tackle you're disgruntling experience.
natatbh
Hi BobChesh,
Let's get this straightend out. As it seems to me, you are using an "Unbound Object Frame" to put the picture on your form.
Use an "Image" instead. Then go to the images properties and set the "Picture Type" property to "Linked" and compact...
