OK, so I figured it out. I thought that since the tapes were showing as <Marked Blank Media> that it meant the tapes were seen as blank (you know since they are brand new). I decided to do an erase on all the tapes in the library and they started showing up as <Blank Media>. My job now runs.

When you open Brightstor, on the Job status page you will have your Job queue that lists the jobs that you have scheduled to run. select your job and scroll over until you find the column that lists the owners of your jobs. They might not necessarily be all the same.

Double check the owner of your job in the Brightstor Manager Job Queue. We had problems restoring remotely and for whatever reason the job owner was not the admin ID we expected it to be, but it was a local user that didn't have the rights.

I believe by the source priority you specify. You can change this when you submit the job. After clicking Start, the second screen is the Submit Job screen. On the right you should see a button for the source priority.

I think you would have to create two different backup jobs. I don't believe you can do this within one job.

The remote server is windows 2003 sp1 and the monitoring server is windows 2003 r2. I did a restart of the system, not a cold boot. I wonder if it is just the fact that Arcserve 9 is not supported on windows 2003. It had been working for so long that I figured it was fine.
