I have a certificate that needs to be installed on a group of workstations. Is there any way to assign a certificate, issued by a third party, to a user or computer, preferably through Active Directory, or through a login script?

One of my users is managing a "small" mail list (400-500 subscribers). So far it appears that any bounces are being ignored. Can anyone comment on what best practices would be, ie: remove a subsciber at first bounce, require a certain number of consecutive bounces before removal, etc.
Thanks,
I am seeking recommendations on a good book for someone coming into VB.NET from an MS Access background. In particular I need instruction on using classes and data controls - something that might also be useful is at least an introduction to design patterns.
Sounds like alot to ask of one...
Wouldn't you need something like:
Private Sub btnPre_Click(ByVal senderAs System.Object,ByVal e as System.EventArgs) Handles btnPrev.Click
Me.BindingContext(DsInfo1, "CompanyInfotbl".Position = Me.BindingContext(DsInfo1, "CompanyInfotbl").Position - 1
ShowPosition()
End Sub
Similar for...
If you want to get elaborate, you could seperate the printers with VLANS and set up the routing to only allow traffic from print servers. As a plus, you might see performance boost from the segmentation of the traffic.
Your mileage may vary and other standard disclaimers.
Can do using active directory - I'll assume you're using W2K server. Simply establish policies on the server using Administrative Tools | Domain Security Policy. It gets tricky - sort of - you should read up on it before jumping in.
I've rolled my own solution to this b/c we have a server that is lots happier when it gets a regular reboot. You can use any NT based OS should work - I've used NT 4.0 and w2k server and workstations in the past. Use the at command to schedule a command line shutdown utility. I can't...
If you right-click My Computer and click the Computer Name tab, does it show your full computer name (with domain name appended) and show domain name being the same as your domain? If not, try running Network Identification Wizard again.
I'm not sure this is really an upgrade - more of a replacement. I don't have any direct experience with it, but I'm familiar with past versions... I'd recommend backing up everything and doing a fresh install of SBS, then load software and restore data.
Does anyone know how to find the Computer Name and/or IP of any PC's a given user account is currently logged in on? I can find it through the event viewer, but would like to find a command line version.
I know the info is available, because NET SEND has to find the user somehow (I would...
I guess I was vague in my question. I'm looking for a way to do just what you describe, but from the command line. Something like:
NET USE D: \\SERVER\SHARE /NOCHANGE
Where the /NOCHANGE switch is my idea of what makes the drive unchangable for that session. It seems like I've seen a switch...
I'd recommend a CD server as well, but with a twist. If you're brave enough to get it working, you can set up a linux box to do it. To give an overview:
1) Set up linux.
2) Create cd images of the cd(s) that you wish to share.
3) Install SAMBA.
4) Share cd images so clients can burn their own...
If I read the above example correctly, you're haveing problems because COM1 is a serial device name that gets searched before any directories. I'm not sure where to go with this to help you, but just knowing the problem might help you or someone else think of a solution. I'll keep thinking...
I know you can do this with one hitch: you'll have to record the username and password in the script. I've done this with much success, but you'll have to make sure the script is secure - not much use locking the door if you leave the key in the lock. Anyway, you use 2 files, a batch file and...
