That was a great idea and what I actually did was encrypt a password on RedHat, then use it to insert into my /etc/passwd file on HardHat. Still, it didn't work.
In anycase, we're talking about hundreds of embedded systems and maybe thousands of users. I couldn't make them all edit their passwd...
My company is using HardHat Rev.1.2 as a server on a piece of hardware. Because of the limited memory space, this is a very stripped down version of linux. Currently, the OS automatically starts a Root login that a user can access via Telnet or Serial Port with no password. I need to add...
My windows PC just crashed, (luckily after I just installed Linux 8.0 on another system). Is it possible to connect my windows PC hard drive and access the files using my Linux box? If so, where should I look to get started?
Thanks,
Don

Hi All,
I am running RedHat 7.2 and was wondering if anyone can tell me how to custom configure parameters and save them. I would like to save tabstop settings and change tabs to spaces.
Thanks in advance,
Don
Hi -- couple of questions.
Firstly, I am running RedHat 7.2.
How can I save my custom VI settings like tabstops and such?
Secondly is there a command setting for converting tabs to spaces?
Thanks in advance for any help...
Don
Check your /bin directory, Your user accounts sound messed up.
Also if your looking for a file with a name you know like ls or cp, use the -name option with find. Example. find / -name ls.
You will have much better results.
