missing nmbd service?
hi, I got the problem same as you describe, and then I checked ip configuration using ifconfig and I found only loopback interface that exist. I try input /etc/rc.d/init.d/network restart and then interface eth0 got ip address from DHCP server. after that I restart samba service and nmbd ran...- hherawan

Dear, You should capture event one moment before your router shutdown, please enable debug feature in your router and direct that output to syslog server. Even if your router shutdown you can see what happen before your router shutdown. may be this is one of dos attack , please check packet... -
