Every time I try to merge a tape into Arcserve I get a GPF error on arcserve.exe
I tried to install the manage on Win98 and the same problem persisted. I have installed the ardserve patch.
I think you usually authenticate to a domain. It sounds like the other workstation is not on the domain and requires local authentication. Join workstation to domain.
After the answer file has been created and you have run sysprep you have to image the machine. We boot off a diskette and run ghost to create the image. We boot to the network and run ghost off the network and store the image there.

You could create a groupwise resource and make the person the owner so they could proxy into it or take ownership and give the user rights through proxy.
