    Can't open port

    Sometimes when I use dial up, the modem gets to the "opening port" part and gets stuck. The only way I can solve the problem is restart the computer and that normally solves the problem. What's wrong? Thanx heaps in advance.

    My windows XP seems to feeze between 15 to 40 seconds at a time. Especially when I use IE6.0, it freezes up often. I could get taskmon by Ctrl, Alt, del. But can't do anything else. It seems to occur more frequently now than before. Is it windows Xp or IE? Thanx alot.

    replacing system file in Win XP Pro

    I'm not an expert. But maybe you could find where windows keeps the backup copy of the DLL and replace that file. Then just somehow corrupt the current DLL. Still trying to find the backup files, they're probably .cab's (out of ideas if they're .cab's)

    At startup there's autoexec.bat or the entries in the registry that gets run at system bootup. Is it possible to run programs when windows shuts down? Thanx

    In XP when I open many IE windows the window tabs in the Taskbar condense into one tab with a number representing the number of windows I've opened. How can I disable this feature and go back to the win98/ME style? I know I can do it using TweakUI but can I do it in the registry or somewhere...
