Hi gavgit,
I saw your question while researching a similar problem we're having. Unfortunately for us, it doesn't help, but from my research, I think I can answer your question, if you still need help. Otherwise, this will serve others who may run into the same problem you're having...
I have another note on this. We upgraded from SQL Server 7 to 2000, and apparently 2000 logs to the NT Event log more than 7 did. In it, I now see login failures for our reports userid 'crystalreportuser' while attempting to access the *master* database. Why is CE trying to log the reports...
Hi rscero,
I do not think you can schedule an unmanaged report. Since you would have to use the Crystal Enterprise "Management" Console to schedule the report, it would need to have the report within it's environment. In the management console, you have to first select a report...
Well, I resorted to Crystal Decision's email tech support, so I'll just post their response to my question:
"So long as everything is running just fine, I would not pay much mind to this. Certain applications log an exceptional amount of activity. With CE, when an attempt is made to view...
Keith,
I'm not too familiar with scheduled reports in CE, but is what you're suggesting available with CE 8.0, the version we're running? But anyway, the users are viewing the reports as Acrobat .pdf files, so they don't have the viewer refresh button available. Are you basically saying...
This may indeed be our problem, as it does occur when trying to open a report based on a long running stored procedure. We're working on improving the overall performance of our server queries our reports are based on, which should improve the stability of CE. I have noticed CE has the most...
Thanks for your response Rooble. Here's more detailed info on this NT event log message:
Source: Crystal_cacheserver
Category: PageServer
Event ID: 35207
Communication with client fails. Continue with other requests
Everytime this occurs, all CE services are indeed running. From my...
I'm getting this error message in the NT event log on the W2K server running CE 8.0. What is the cause of it? When it occurs, the report fails to come up in the browser. Any solutions to this? Thanks!
Can you post a segment of the URL you're trying to open the report with? We pass parameters to CE through a URL with "prompt0=<value>&prompt1=<value>", with each prompt corresponding to the first (prompt0), second (prompt1), and so on parameter.
On our project, we have a Weblogic app server for the database our Crystal Reports hit. Using the business logic in the EJBs, we wrote JSP web pages to build parameter pick lists for users to select the parameters they wish to open reports with. When they submit the HTML form, the JSP builds...
Hi,
We're using CE 8.0 on a W2K Server (Service Pack 2). The reports connect to MS SQL Server 7.0 database on a separate machine. In the \WINNT\Crystal\SQLSvr.err file I see this message over and over again:
SQL Server Message
Number : 18456
State : 1
Severity: 14
Text : Login...
To Jacob438:
You need to add a login to the APS. We use the guest account w/ no password set in CE. Try adding the following to your URL:
&apsuser=guest&apspassword=&apsauthtype=secEnterprise
Hope this helps,
-Oliver
