i used to be in photoshop or something and still able to burn with no problems, since this problem started occuring, i, like u suggested, killed every un-necessary process...but it's still generating the No Seek errors...
what are 'red book cd's' by the way?

i have a philips CDRW4012P drive, when burning data i usually have no problems, but when burning an audio CD lately, it would get to 95-97% then crap out...generating
a "no seek complete" error. anyone has any idea what this might mean or why it might be happenning...even...

The problems described above that i've been experiencing, occurs on my home PC, last night after updating my version of Java, i followed carrr's suggestions :
"Yours should read 5.00.3908, as you've installed the VM.
Go into Tools, Internet Options, Security tab, Internet...

that's an excellent observation, because, Java works if i visit the Java Test website...but my complaint now, arises out of java windows not opening up...i have a site, that uses java script to pop up a window on load of the site, and it's not working..I do have pop up blocking...

oldgrey, no it's not embedded in any other movies...i just used a high frame rate, as i imagined the scroll would be a lot smoother than if it were lower...however it's still turning out somewhat jerky...the images are about 450x300...
