add new record in lookup table

Hi, I have a lookup table with set values. I use this table to populate data in a members table. How do I add new entries into the lookup table directly from the members table? For example, the lookup table is PhysicianSpecialty. It has records for Cardio - Cardiology, OT Nurse - Operation...

    low connectivity on Ethernet card

Hi, I want to connect my laptop to an Ethernet connection using cable modem. The connection works great when I have it plugged into my desktop. When I take the same connection to my laptop, it attempts to access the network address (takes a while to do this). When it does connect, it shows...

laptop keyboard problem - pressing once types multiple letters

Wow! Go figure. It seems to work for a while, but then it comes back. That may be because I am not using the right second key with Function (I have used Control and Alt). As it happens, I just hit Fn and a few keys and it goes away. THanks!!

laptop keyboard problem - pressing once types multiple letters

Hi, I am having problems with my laptop keyboard (Dell Latitude Cpx). When I enter certain letters, typing once leads to multiple letters being typed. This is happening a lot with letters "a" "i" and "o". Is this an issue of dirt getting in the laptop? Or is it hardware related? Thanks.

    memory corruption? white blank screen

So it's possibly a CMOS battery problem. How do I check the bios setting and what am I looking for? How do I get to the CMOS battery and how do I check if the connection is bad? Thanks.

    memory corruption? white blank screen

Addition to 1st note: I just tried it with the 128MB stick only and it booted up fine. I then tried putting them both back in and it is working fine also. I just noticed that the clock was reset to June 1, 2000! The time was almost correct, 10 minutes ahead of time right now, actually...

    memory corruption? white blank screen

Hi, I have a Dell Pentium II Latitude CPi. Two days ago, when I turned on my laptop from hibernation mode, a very loud and piercing sound came from it! It was on for about 10 seconds until I unplugged the wire to the outlet. Today, I was working on it for about 8 hours. I closed the monitor...

enable mouse click options in IE

That doesn't seem to do it. I still get an error message. It's a customized message that just says the name of the application. It halts you from using Alt + left arrow. Thoughts? Thanks.

enable mouse click options in IE

I am working with a software application that runs with IE only (5.5 and later). It's an ASP hosted proprietary app. The left and right mouse clicks are disabled (the only exception being you can copy text using the left mouse button). Is there a way to enable this? More than anything I...

columns in Word - text in 3rd column only

Hi, I am working on creating a tri-fold document with Word. I need to enter the text in the 3rd column (the right most). It also needs to be centered. When I create 3 columns in Word, it allows me to enter text in the first column only. How can I leave the first 2 columns blank and enter...

remove extra line breaks Outlook 2002

I have tried to stay away from HTML and rich text format. It has a lot of problems that come with that, esp with attachments. I mean really all I need to be able to do is to keep the entire hyperlink together even when it wraps to the next line. I see it in email newsletters all the time...

remove extra line breaks Outlook 2002

The other issue is that in mails I am receiving after removing the check box for "remove extra line breaks in plain text messages", it still says: "This message has extra line breaks. To remove, click here." Why is unchecking the box to remove extra line breaks not working?

remove extra line breaks Outlook 2002

The encoding is Western European (ISO). The Auto-Select encoding for outgoing messages is checked. This is under the international settings. I believe the sending format is plain text, if plain text means sending format. If not, under the Internet Format option, the plain text option box for...

remove extra line breaks Outlook 2002

Hi, I am sending an email with text and links, using Outlook 2002. Just to make sure the links were coming out correctly, I sent some test messages to myself. Turns out they aren't! The last few letters of the link is getting cut off and moved to the second line, which means that the link...

old memory stick not working with new laptop Dell

Hi bcastner, I am not sure I understand what you mean by "it is one of the 133s that...". The 256MB works fine when it is run by itself. If I use the 128MB by itself, that is fine also. It's using both together that's the problem. Apparently I got the wrong 256MB stick to work with the...

old memory stick not working with new laptop Dell

It is Dell Laptop Cpx 500 Mhz. I put this in on crucial.com but am not sure I understand the results.
