I have 5 Windows NT4 Terminal servers running Citrix 1.8 that I'm backing up over the wire to library using Back Exec 8.6 remote agents. For some reason the Remote agent on those servers will not intitialize. The backup still runs but without the assistance of the agent. Does anyone know the trick?
I have Arcserve v9 (and the backup agent for Excahnge) on a Windows 2k server. The backup seems to complete successfully according to the "Last Result" in the job queue and the fact that Exchange truncates the transaction logs. The problem is that Arcserve is not writing to the Activity log. All...
It will not be needed for servers running the client agent. I believe you get five client agents with each purchase of Arcserve. You're okay with the agents as long as you don't install more than five. Otherwise you will only need to look at the servers running Arcserve.
Schedule the second job to start 5 minutes after the first job. Arcserve will hold the second job in the queue till the first one completes and the second job will start immediately after the first.
In Arcserve 2000 I was attempting to initialize the databases. The job and tape engine stopped as they should but the database enigine hung in stopping mode. It will not completely stop and it will not restart. Trying to stop and start the server's Acserve services didn't produce any results...
This has solved the problem for me on occasions.
1.Stop all Engines.
2. Browse to folder 00000001.QSD it will be located under the ArcServe directory. Win2k= C:\Program Files\ComputerAssociates\ARCserve\00000001.qsd
