When you open the CMC, on the tree in the left window, right click on Printer Management and select properties. Feature Release 2 has some enhancements and refreshing the network printer at each logon in the Auto-created Network Printers section of that screen.
Pandomas,
The clients are all Win95 and Win98 and client version 6.3. Good news, however. We have resolved the issue. The default settings in Feature Release 2 are very restrictive (the new trend, and not a bad one at that). By checking the option to refresh the client's network printers at...

MetaFrame XPe Feature Release 2
Implementing Feature Release 2 to fix a Lexmark printer problem has created further problems where none existed before. Now, many (not all) users are finding that their default HP printer is not autocreated as the default printer in...
Last night's job should have written to media in the respective media set that had passed its overwrite period. The media became overwriteable. But BE took media that was labeled and in another media set. Perhaps I'll look into segmenting the library.
Torri,
That was the first thing I checked and I did have the wrong setting. Even after changing it to "Overwrite re-cyclable media" before scratch media, same problem.
Scanner,
What you say makes sense, however, I have multiple jobs scheduled to run overnight and I can't be there to...
We just bought a Storagetek L20 tape library with Veritas BackupExec 8.6.
All of our previous DLTIV tapes are not compatible with the DLT1 drive so they must be degaussed in order to re-use them with the tape library or we must purchase all new tapes. Either way, it will be new media introduced...

Our call center has an application that runs as a ticker. It shows the staff how many calls are in the queue.
I recently upgraded their business critical app and everytime they do any work in the business app, the ticker drops to the back.
Is there a registry hack that I can use to keep the...
I am setting up a training lab and the requirements specified by the software supplier were a peer to peer network. I am having a difficult time designating a Win2k peer server as the authoritative time server. The workstations do not update their time.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.
Mike
I recently did a fault tolerant upgrade of our NT4 SP4 Exchange 5.0 SP2 server to NT4 SP4 Exchange 5.5 SP3.
Now I find that with some users, when I try to remove them from a DL in their user mailbox property page, it does not work. If I go the the properties page of the DL, I can remove the user...
One of our users has asked the question -
"When I send a message to a DL, why do I not receive the "Out of Office" reply from those recipients who have it turned on?"
We have Exchange 5.0 SP2 on WinNT4 SP3 (soon to upgrade to Exchange 5.5).
Is is configured incorrectly? Is...
Thanks Jeff.<br>Technet article Q150995 details that procedure but our staff change positions frequently and I want to keep the administration tasks to a bare minimum. In the event of my absence this solution could be problematic.
I have a small group of users (50) that I need to ensure are not logged in to an application on a BDC at a specific time. By default all of our users have unlimited logon hours. Logon hours cannot be set for groups, only individuals. The only thing I have arrived at is putting the "NET USER...
Thanks, Jeff. We are using Outlook 97. I just tested and found that you can fill in just the BCC field and the recipient receives an e-mail message with no 'To' field.
<B>Here's a twist</B>. After trying the BCC method, I found that it does work that way and I let the user know. He just contacted me to say that he just received the same junk e-mail but this time there is no 'To' or 'CC' field. If the 'To' field has no content (at least in my Outlook/Exchange...

One of our users forwarded an e-mail to me. It was a well known internet scam. His question was "How did I get this e-mail. My e-mail address is not in the 'To' field?"<br><br>We're using Exchange 5.0 SP2 and Outlook 97. How does a message like this arrive in a mailbox that isn't in...
This is an Outlook client issue. Mary, who wants to share her calendar with Joe, would open Outlook on her workstation, right click on the Calendar shortcut in the Outlook bar and select properties. Then she would select the permissions tab, select "add" and select Joe.<br>Then Joe...
