Ah, OK. So you just need to be able to telnet from your PC to the HP-UX box then. No problem. PuTTY is a very good FREE telnet client for Windows.

This should do what you need.
Modify the file /etc/rc.config.d/nfsconf and change the line:
PCNFS_SERVER=0
to
PCNFS_SERVER=1
Then do a:
# /sbin/init.d/nfs.core start
# /sbin/init.d/nfs.server start
And you should be all set.
Make sure you have the logical volume for the new /home created in vg04 and mounted as something like home.new
Then do the following:
# cd /home
# find . | cpio -pudlmv /home.new
Once you are done:
# umount /home
# umount /home.new
Modify your /etc/fstab so that it now mounts /home from...
If it still hasn't responded, go ahead and find the swinstall and swagentd processes and kill them. Then make sure you restart swagentd:
# /sbin/init.d/swagentd start
If you happen to be running MeasureWare, stop it.
# /sbin/init.d/mwa stop
Now do your swinstall of the product and it should...
What type of CD-ROM are you using? Is it an HP CD-ROM or is it some other SCSI CDROM? There are very few non-HP CD drives that will actually allow an HP machine to boot.
If it is an HP drive then I'd go ahead an see about getting new media.
What kind of interface are you looking for? Are you looking to be able to mount filesystems from the HP-UX box on your Windows machine? Or mount directories from your PC to the Unix box?
