Yes, any data that needs to be written will be on a file share on our network, so on a PC I can copy to a local drive then burn from there, but the only option on a thin client even if I could get the burner working would be to allow access to the local Citrix server, which goes against our...
Patrick,
Thanks for your response, it seems as though I might be angling to do something that (A) is not recommended and (B) may adversely impact on our (currently stable) production environment. The bandwidth query is an interesting one - bandwidth is not overly abundant, and we have a...
Thanks for the feedback Scott, is it something you have come across often? I wouldn't have thought it was something unusual so perhaps there is a better way to approach it?
Hi all,
We have a Citrix farm running MPS4 using a mixture of WYSE 3125 and 3150 terminals on a W2K Server environment with SP4.
I have purchased a number of external DVD recorders and have set them up without a problem to read DVD's, but as soon as I try to burn data to the disk, Citrix does...
Thanks for the link enigma, we don't have that software installed, I will keep looking and hopefully get to the bottom of the frustration!
Thanks

Enigma,
Thanks for the response.
I have two IBM 8843 blade servers and one HP Proliant ML350 G4 server. The only server that reboots correctly is one of the blades, and I have tried running reboot scripts locally and remotely for the other two.
I use tsshutdn.exe as it seems to be the...
Hi guys,
We have a MPS4 farm on Windows 2000 Server SP4.
I have a scheduled task on each server that reboots servers daily, but won't work on one server. No-one can connect in the morning, but if I re-run tsshutdn from another server in the farm, the server reboots and everything comes up...
Thanks for the feedback smah, I will check the relevant folder and maybe also revisit the server rules function. Any information I get at this stage is good info, I am surprised by the fact that this seems like a fairly unique problem!
Thanks
I have looked around for a while but can't find an answer to this question.
We've set up a mailbox to handle email requests, individuals within the organisation will monitor these mailboxes but I'd like to set an auto-reply email up to be sent to everyone who sends an email.
When using the...
Hi all,
AD newbie with a query on renaming printers.
We have a mixed environment of Citrix remote users and desktop users
and I want to rename a whole lot of printers; the renaming is OK from a
Citrix point of view, but what is involved in renaming the printers in
AD so the people with...
Hi all,
We have Citrix Secure Gateway 2.0 installed to allow remote access to our Citrix servers, and it has been working well enough, but recently there is the random occasion where we get an SSL/TLS error saying the proxy cannot connect to our STA server.
This error will sometimes occur...
Well Tony, working in a government agency and being bound by red tape, I will have to cross that bridge when I come to it, no doubt it will prove to be alot harder in this environment than it is to do technically!
Steve
Thanks to all of you for the feedback, and by not describing my problem 100% and word-for-word it seems as though alot of time has been wasted, but I have an answer to my question, and will use a macro to solve my problems.
Next time I will word my query better, so hopefully the sarcastic and...
You have made your point Gerry, perhaps I need to simplify my problem even more - if I print out a document without printing the file path in the footer, hand you the hard copy and ask you to modify the document electronically, what would be the first thing you would ask? Where is the file...
Thanks all for your feedback, perhaps I should have defined the problem better, when a document is printed without a header and footer, retrieving this document electronically from our very complicated network becomes near on impossible.
And while I appreciate that one answer may be, as...
Tony,
It is really a business related issue; we have tried encouraging people to show headers and footers when printing for easy document retrieval, but we still face problems, so we are looking at a different approach, that is, opening documents in header and footer view by default.
Thanks
coposg
Hi all,
I was wondering if someone could assist, I wanted to know if we can automatically display the header and footer in all documents, new and existing, without having to toggle the settings through View -> Header and Footer?
My thoughts were that editing the normal.dot could solve the...
