Have you installed all the software on the remote server in the default directories? I had this once with a Metaframe server which had the drive letters re-mapped from c/d to m/n. Re-installing (with c/d as main drives) solved the problem.

Probably the way you've configured the Backup Exec Client. Look in menu: Jobs. You can select which jobs you want shown here. Chance is you've not got a tick next to "completed jobs".
