Hi
I have a dual graphics card which worked fine under FC3 and also under FC4.
If you want to configure the pc to use both then you will need to run system-config-display as root and select the dual head tab from the GUI
Hope this helps.

Hi
If your not using compression then the maximum you will get on the tape is 100GB, don't forget also that the amount of data on a tape is dependant on the type of data you are backing up.
for example here at our institute most of our data is already heavily compressed due to data reduction...
Hi
I would check that the media being used is the same as the hardware.
In your case you should use IBM media with your IBM drives, if indeed they are IBM drives, we had the same problem with our LTO1 drives, we had maxel media but the drives were HP, when we switched to HP media all our...
Hi Guys
Thanks for your advice.
The problem was tracked down to two thing, we installed the Solaris 8 st.conf patch (Yes I know we are running 2.6) and also changed the st.conf.
A local backup of the host server worked at 17mb's and a networked backup at 7.5 Mbs per second.
I think the only...
Hi Ulf
Thanks for the suggestion.
I have now hard set the switch and also updated the etc/system file to force full 100.
However I still get the same results, It's annoying because one of the servers that I plan to use the lto for already takes 30hrs plus to backup on a full backup.
I am now...
I have just installed a Quantum ATL M1500 LTO unit, this has 2 tape units and is connected to a Sun E250.
It is connected via LVD scsi and has a network interface of 100mb's

When backing up a new Linux client I get the following message:
pclinnt1:/opt/sybase save: RAP error: ClientPaks for LINUX/NSR enabler does not exist in the system
Ordinarilly I would just order a ClientPak but I have other Linux hosts that I backup successfully.
All are Redhat 7.1 with the...
Hi Bozo
I have never used the Laptop product myself so I can't comment on it, but in the past I always used the Briefcase function on Microsoft and then syncronised my data onto my network drive the next time I was in the office.

Hi
I use "cron" to run the following command once a week on a Sunday.
/usr/sbin/nsr/nsrck -C -x 99 > & /tmp/networker_index.tmp
This will reduce your index sizes.
Note: I am currently running 5.1 not 6 which is where the indexing changes completly.
Note: You should only run this...
We currently run Legato 5.1 (looking to upgrade to 6 in the near future).
Before doing this I need to look at cloning, we run Legato on a Sun E250 with 135 clients predominantly Sun with the odd HP and NT clients included.
We use MTI raid in general (Vivant s200 1.7 TB) divided up into various...
