Hi, All,
Long time since the beginning of this thread, but just wanted to provide a status - our server abends on nwagent appear to have been resolved, due to some very good investigative work and persistence on the part of CA Support.
Bottom line, CA support engineer, Bob, stayed OT and on...
Q019337 will go on our test server today, but because we are using AS2000 and not AS7 for Netware, don't think we need Qo12831 and Qo19341.
Am also thinking to use AS2000 sp4 second release, Qo19251 - 6/28/02 - however some earlier posts elsewhere indicated there had been problems with the...
Thanks for all the input.
NWagent issues:
NW6 with AS2000 universal nwagent
with AS2000 sp3 patch Q0)5692
Novell patches NW6SMS1a and 011210n6
CA patch Qo05996
servers abend on nwagent, and have frequent failed backups due to failure to connect to client agent. Also, although reported to work...
NWagent is intermittently abending our NW6 servers (they do not have NW sp1).
We are backing up with AS2000.
Have you applied the 3 patches listed at the CA site? Two of them are Netware patches for NW6 and 1 is a CA patch:
(Novell docs. 10065605 and 2960484) NW6SMS1A.exe
(Novell doc...
Does anyone have any experience / opinions on AS vs Veritas - Netbackup?
We have been with CA using versions of Arcserve from 6.5 - 2000, but plan to evaluate move to Netbackup. (2000's nwagent is crashing servers)
I am interested in real user feedback about these products. We are a mixed...
Hi, getting different backup behaviors here, don't know why.
Using AS6.5 and AS2000, I am backing up NT 4.0 and 2000 servers. None of the boxes is using open file agent. On only one of the servers am I getting a sharing violation when for NTuser.dat, and C$\winnt\system32\config\default, sam...
Hi, Thanks for your suggestion. I did redo all the jobs, selecting at the 'top' still getting the errors. Both Novell and CA Arcserve suggest doing a volume rebuild on NSS volumes, so we are scheduling for off-hours since they have to be dismounted for the rebuild. Also, latest patches. We...
Running Arcserve 6.61 on NT, backing up Netware 5.1. Getting random "Failed to Open Directory <gives path> errno=1. Netware Errono=9c.
Doing a spot check shows that some of the directories don't exist, and some do. The servers being backed up have recently been patched with Netware sp3...
OK, folks, this seemed to fix it - (I am running Arcserve 6.5, built 620 on NT 4.0)
1. I spoke to a different tech at Arcserve, he said NOT to apply patch L047027 - that it had problems.
2. After having me check on the backup server in \arcserve\database directory for r*.* files, he said that...
There is a patch for 6.5 for NT:
L047027 to apply to the backup server running Arcserve. Please note prerequisite patches if relevent. http://support.ca.com/as6ntsupp.html
Will let you know if it fixes my problem.
I have also contacted CA about this and another problem. Will let you know what they suggest. In the meantime - anyone else out there with suggestions, advice? All ideas welcome! Thanks. Audrey
Yes, same as Ivanhoe, my jobs also seem to complete - based on size, # of db's etc. - but get the ASRUNJOB.exe error, the job status reports crashed, and the job gets put on "HOLD".
My jobs have started reporting "Crash" in the job status window, and the following error is on the screen:
Dr. Watson for Windows NT
An application error has occured....ASRUNJOB.exe
exception: access violation (oxcoooooo5).....
Am backing up Lotus Notes servers on NT boxes (without...
