I am confused about whether I need to buy a soundcard when I purchase a new machine.
They all say they have on board sound, but is this a real low quality sound? What actually is on board sound?
Should I get something like a Soundblaster Audigy 5.1 sound card.
Could people fill me in with all the secrity issues involved with XP please.
Like not being able to install on more than one computer in my home network. Or that I have to ring up Microsoft to get it to work. And anything else relevant...
I have heard that TFT monitors are bad for gaming. But as they are so cheap now, I still would like one.
So would it be a good idea to have one and then just use TV out on the video card to play games on a TV screen? Or are there problems with this too?
Thanks
Which is better of these two?
1. GeForce 3 Ti 500 128MB
2. GeForce 4 Ti 4200 64 MB
I'm thinking in terms of the difference in perfomance because of the 64MB and 128MB RAM difference of the two! They are both at a similar price at the moment.
Thanks

Thanks for the quick repsones everyone.
I was also considering getting a 128MB GeForce3 Ti 500, as i can't stretch to the really high end cards. But if the Geforce4 Ti 4200 is that cheap and good then I might end up going for that one.
My main use will be for gaming yes!

As a lowish end graphics card, is the GeForce 4 MX 440 better than a GeForce 2 Pro GTS (which i currently have)?
The MX 440 seems to come as a standard in all system packages in the shops at the moment.
