The company I work for has asked me to pick up Groovy as a language. My programming in the past has been limited to C++ and Pascal, back in the High School and College days. Now from what I have read, Groovy is an off-shoot of java, which would mean I would need to pick up Java first in order to...
TO all those who were kind enough to answer my questions .. thanks a lot.
The new PSU and Video card are in and work like a charm. The PSU fit without a problem and now doesnt seem to get that hot even when I play games at the highest settings.
Thanks.

Thanks to RVNGUY's approximate measurements I did measure my present PSU's dimensions:
They came out to me 6.5" x 5.5" x 4"
So I guess that the new PSU I ordered should fit in my Case as long as it has similar dimensions.
Thanks again to all of you.

I guess I will have to wait and find out. Like I said they did look the same (in pictures) and are about the same size. But if that is really a Micro-ATX case then where do I get a Power supply big enough to run my 6600GT because from what I understand the 250W factory PSU will definitely not...
Thanks pintail ..
I see what you are saying but my main concern is the physical size of the power supply more than anything else. I think the connections and fan outlets on the new power supply look similar to my present power supply but I am more concerned about the physical size of the power...
Hi ..
I am buying a Nvidia 6600GT video card and need to buy a new video card as the 250W power supply will not work. I am not 100% sure but I think my computer is in a Micro-ATX case. The current power supply in there is a 250W power supply.
I have ordered a 450W power supply which runs on...
I was wondering if anyone got a chance to try mindleaders courses yet. At www.mindleaders.com. Its a 68.95 for the CCNA course but I tried the demo courses and they looked pretty good?
Any ideas?

Hey schwefel:
Was the Cisco Press Certification Library and the Boson Exams sufficient or did you use any other books to prepare for the exam. Also, how much time did you put into the preperation.
Thanks

Hey ProudToBeLeeds:
I am also interested in the Solaris Administration. Can you please tell me as to what book did you purchase to study for it. I have been working with Unix (Red Hat and Solaris) around 4 years (2 years as tech support) and 2 years while in the School lab as a monitor.
I will...
Hey ..
Thanks for all ur suggestions guys .. but this is the current situation ..
Its a really small company with no scope of going up the ladder. There is not a chance in hell .. and I am serious and have tried a dozen of times.. of me going anywhere here. Also, yes I am pretty proficient...
Hello:
To agree with most of you guys, I do not believe much in Certs either. I went to college for 4 years and finished my Bachelors in Comp. Engg. I have around 2-3 years of Exp. in Support but am unable to get anywhere even remotely close to the System Administration level. I am extremely...
I wish I had enough space to pick up the Box .. i most definitely I would. I live in a 1 bedroom Apt. and have 3 computers at home already. And 2 TV's. LOL!!
I have no more place for another computer .. plus my fiancee wont let me buy one. I just want to install Solaris on the older computer...
Hello:
Also, to add to my last post. I found that the Sun Cert. requires 2 exams which are $150 each. However, will installing the Sun O/S which I obtain from their site be of much help. I ask this because Sun Systems are mainly based on SPARC Computers. Will I be able to really learn a lot...
Thanks Frederico:
So I guess I will download the Sun SOlaris O/S for x86 processors. It is around 20 bucks which is not bad. But here is my question:
How expensive is it to get certified in Sun. Because if it is a lot it will beat my whole purpose of getting the OS.
Also, I am still confused...
Hi:
Is there any way I could get my hands on a trial/demo version of the AIX software. Or is this something that I will not be able to install on a regular PC. I think this is the most popular server software in use nowadays and will be greatly beneficial to me.
Thanks

Well .. I learnt a lot about Unix while pursuing my computer engineering degree in college. Now my work revolves around Tech Support in the Webhosting field with primarily Unix servers. However, I do not see much of a chance of progress in my company as it is too small.
While looking for new...

Hi
I was planning to take my exam in the next 2 months so I guess I wont be affected by this. But anyway .. I was wondering how long does it take to get an exam date. I mean if I wanted to give an exam next week (theoretically)would it be possible or are there fixed dates. Basically, what I...
