I am trying to find an equivalent in SQL Server for the Oracle Connect By statement as I want to create a tree structure and be able to drill down through it exactly as you explained.

That's exactly what I did do - I am planning to redevelop the report into cold fusion so that my users can simply access it via our intranet - but needed to get a one-off sample of the report printed in Word so that it could be agreed. Thanks for your help.
