X settings in red hat install?
Maybe you're using the wrong device driver for your graphics card? Most of the time the reason why X won't start is because of incompatible device driver. If you've got a new graphics card unlisted in the X configuration when you installed linux, then you oughta search for the correct driver.- JackiTyan
