We have a laptop. When it is connected to a network, any change font change takes about 10 seconds the first time. Any subsequent font changes in the worksheet are instantaneous. If the laptop has no network connections, we do not experience the delay. Any idea what could be causing this...
I'm the network admin for a small CPA firm. One of our accounting clients is the retail store. They asked me to do some preliminary research to get some ballpark numbers. If they proceed I'll help them in any way I can-- I also do IT consulting for some of our clients.
Our client hasn't decided on which direction they want to go with the business yet, so we haven't pursued things any deeper. I'm sure some of the other members can help you out though.

We have a client who needs to switch to a new retail POS. I'm looking for a price range ($20-30k, $50-100k?) for the whole system-- hardware, software, training, etc. and the amount of time it would take to implement.
They'll need three floor systems (two with cash drawers) and two more for...
The post from bmcgrathPIX seems to be the resolution to this message that we were getting when we tried to email anyone at earthlink.net:

I'm starting a new job on Monday, replacing a curren IT guy. They're using a x700 firewall. Can someone tell me what the default user ID and password are, and also what the reset procedure is? I'm hoping I won't have to reset it, but I want to be prepared.
Thanks
Here's what I think we can do to fix my problem:
I'll need to use 2 servers because you can't have overlapping subnets in any two scopes on a server, but you can set up an overlapping subnet if you use a seperate server.
For my main server I set is as DHCP only with one scope using a subnet of...
Did you ever figure this out? I need to know how to setup DHCP so that it recognizes different WAN links and serves them addresses and subnets from the correct scope...
It was a DC, and the only server on the domain. So what you're saying is to setup another DC, demote the server, ghost it and then run dcpromo again?
My company decided the best solution would be to reload it, which they did on Sunday, but I'd like to know for future reference...
Has anyone found anything that will work?
We had a server go down at one of our customers-- bad RAID controler... and a bad backup. We had to rebuild the domain using an IDE hard drive. What can we use to image the disk from the IDE to the RAID array. It's running Windows Server 2003.
The customer figured it out- I'm not sure what he did. He's been dealing with this software for years, but he was out on the day I was working on it...
Thanks for your reply, anyway.
I have a customer who's running Mas 90, I think v. 3.4 on a Novell 4.11 server.
When I try to access Mas 90 from one workstation I get an "unable to load ResourceLib:90wres32.dll" error followed by a "Error 15 in program SYZDLL as line 4140" error.
If I try to run it on...
