Dont forget the Norton issue either. If you are running Norton, set it to manually update and do it yourself. This sometimes solves the problem. Alot of great fixes posted here.
Try downloading and creating a CDGod bootdisk from http://www.Tweakfiles.com/misc/cdromgod.html. Once its downloaded, you need to unzip it. Then run the .exe to create the CDGod bootdisk. Insert it, boot to it and its pretty self explanatory. Basically it gives you the chance to repeatedly keep...
Im still not clear as to whether its c:\windows\temp or temp internet files. As the former seems to be taken care of, just to cover all bases, here is for the latter. Tools>properties>settings>view files>edit>select all>file>delete.
