We currently have Legato 7.1.1 on a Solaris platform. One of the systems we back up is an exchange server. We run an NT Backup of the exchange database and then Legato backs up the NTBackup file. Right now this file is 62Gb in size. When I try to restore it back to the same system, it fails...
It is the folder permissions and it has been fixed if you upgrade to 7.1.3
Legato says they put out a notice to all sites that this was an issue even though I never saw it come through and we just ran across this issue.
Remember though, to do so through Storage Nodes will require DDS license per tape device and a Dedicated Storage Node license.

Legato has told me now that is it a known issue with 7.1 and 7.1.2 clients. The the person who has rights to the file is not in the local administrators group, the files will NOT get backed up and there is no error saying as such. There is a hotfix for it, or I can upgrade...
