Suggest picking through and applying, in order, the numerous patches. Next, delete the backup job's file. Recreate the job. Worst case [shadessad], uninstall/reinstall the program, NT user included. Good luck and let the forum know about it!
Palliser, I'm having the same problem with BE 7.0 SBS. Waiting on BE 8.5 but have to survive until it arrives. No one ever posted a reply. Did you come up with a fix?.
Any virus alert that includes "According to news broadcast by CNN (http://www.cnn.com/)." or "This alert was received by an employee of Microsoft itself." is almost surely a hoax. These lines are used often in virus hoaxes. :-)

At night BackupExec runs a batch file with net stop msexchangesa /y which stops the 4 exchange services we have running. After the backup another batch file runs with net start msexchangemta and net start msexchangeis. Both the MTA and IS will start the SA and DS. Backups seem to be working...
