Yeah, I had what maybe the same problem logging onto ePO from my laptop. One min. was fine, next minute no. I changed the port to 80, from 81, and it then worked fine. The only thing that had changed on my laptop was I'd installed a Bluetooth dongle, but I don't see why that would've stuffed it...
It hasn't suspended inbound/ outbound mail due to low diskspace, as it? The minimum you can set is 50MB, so if you have below this free, it may be the reason.
I was getting some "cannot get language from plugin area" and "cannot get uninstall command from plugin area" messages in the Agent log. I couldn't work out where the plugin area was.
Basically, it's in this part of the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Network...
There is a second file, which is called ServerSiteList.xml, I don't know what this does that the SiteList.xml file doesn't, but on machines where I have your problem, I always copy a "good" copy of those 2 files onto the problem PC, and they generally solve the problem after stopping...
In the agent logs of quite a few of out clients, we get this appearing:
"Can't get uninstall command from plugin area"
This stop the agent from updating the DATs at all. NAI helpdesk haven't shed any light on the matter, so does anyone have any ideas?
