    file storage noob question

We are looking into Sharepoint for our business. Currently, as with most businesses without Sharepoint, our files are stored in a directory structure. Is there any way to keep the files in the same location within the existing directory but use Sharepoint to access them? From what I have...

    ntbackup

Can ntbackup/rsm be used to run backup jobs that span multiple tapes in a tape library autoloader? If so how? ie. a scheduled backup of a local server that is too large for one dlt tape & requires a autochanger to load a second tape (without a human manually loading it) Thanks

    Supernetting

Our DMZ is on the another interface on a PIX. I agree that supernetting what is on the DMZ would open up that network to the LAN. It would have to get through the PIX first though. We have no routers on our network. If we want a device to communicate with another network we currently have to...

    Licensing

We had a problem with returning deleted users within Licensing, so per Microsoft's article: http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q153/1/40.asp I deleted the cpl.cfg, Lluser.lls & Llsmap.lls files. Now when I try to readd the purchased CALs I only get options for Backoffice & Windows...

    Supernetting

Thanks manarth, We have some address space reserved for DHCP. Most of the addresses in our 192.168.1.0 network have been used & we're looking to expand. Our DMZ is on our 192.168.3.0 network, some vpn clients get assigned a 192.168.2.0 range. Currently for people to communicate with the dmz...

    Supernetting

We do not have any routers involved in our internal network. Would we need routers to communicate between say, 192.168.1.0 & 192.168.2.0 or would changing the mask on the hosts to 255.255.252.0 work as well? Thanks

    Supernetting

To change over to the 172.16.x.x class B type network would require changing too many static ips. Why wouldn't you do it? What problems do you foresee? You said it is possible, if I were to do it would changing the mask to 255.255.252.0 an all hosts be the only necessary change? Thanks

    Supernetting

We have an internal network 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 established. We would like to expand it to include 192.168.0.0, 192.168.2.0 and 192.168.3.0. Can we do this without the use of routers by just changing the subnet mask on all our hosts to 255.255.252.0? Thanks, John

    Restoring Recipient containers

That did it! I can now see the mailboxes. Thank you. Does anyone know how to obtain the users mail in a .pst format & transfer it to their Outlook client when the client is configured to a different (Ex 2k) mail server? Thanks, John

    Restoring Recipient containers

We recently brought an Exchange 2k server online. Most of our users email is stored locally in personal folders. A few were stored on the Exchange 5.5 server. To add the user's mailboxes to Ex 2k we deleted the mailboxes (Recipient containers) from Ex 5.5 and created new ones on the Ex 2k...

    Logon to multiple domains/workgroups

I have a laptop which has a profile set up on our local domain. I would like to take that laptop home and logon to the @home workgoup. AS you may have guessed, the network settings are completely different. I'd like to keep the computer name the same as well as the user logon & password. How...
