Forgive me, i am a newbie at this, especially Windows 2003.
I am restructuring our overworked network and need some sound advice, in simple steps.
I will be configuring 2 windows 2003 servers as follows:
SERVERA IP 192.168.5.1 with DHCP, DNS and WINS as a PDC with a domain of SERVERA.LOCAL...
last friday our 4500 began to 'disallow' certain IP addresses to do anything IP related. they cannot ping the router, use the internet, nothing, but they CAN map drives and function on the intranet. it is not limited to a certain range, just a random bunch. even some who have wireless are either...
I inherited this older access 2000/2002 project here at work, and one portion will not run, it is missing the data object wizard (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VB98\Wizards\msdatobj.dll). I downloaded the file but cannot register it with regsvr32, nor can i force it in the visual...
that did not work, either time. we have this one account that is inherited from the parent with restricted privileges. this will not go away and we have no idea what it is (the old admin is no longer here). i don't want to delete it from the parent because i don't want to hose anything else, and...
we are attempting to restructure the public folder on our server. right now, inherited permissions on each subfolder allows everyone full control. we removed this on one subfolder, added full control to individual users. neither of the users could access the folder, so we put back the inherited...
no, it's hosed. it doesn't even turn on when i power off, including removing the battery.
the links above are good, i'm checking them out as well as eBay.
i should probably just dismantle the thing and buy a new one, for less than half of what i paid for this one, i can get one that will run...
thanks for the replies.
the backlight does not work regardless of how i boot the machine, it is gone. probably coincidence, but i did wonder if the drivers had anything to do with it. i know you can change refresh rates to ones that monitors cannot support, and could cause damage that way, and...
i just finished reinstalling windows xp on my HP ZE1110 laptop, using all of the latest drivers available from HP.
Not more than 5 minutes after the video driver was installed, the backlight on the laptop screen died.
question: could the driver affect the lamp or is it just plain coincidence?
we are trying to test the load capabilities of the server. we have been using SoapUI, but the results are a bit less than spectacular and are looking for another alternative to at least check with something else.
currently we unit test the webservices with vb.net, and with a bit of 'massaging'...
i remember seeing awhile back (which i forget the website) where someone posted some code as to how to do this...
as much as i can remember there was
dim p as new process
and a for loop that triggered the webservice call within that process. i know how to do it with things like notepad.exe and...
i have a call to a webservice that i need to attempt to load test without using vb.net 2005 express. the existing code is:
Dim cws As New CategoryWebServices.CategoryWebServices
Dim cred As New System.Net.NetworkCredential
cws.Credentials = New Net.NetworkCredential("admin"...
