To simplify administration I like to give members of a windows group in active directory read access to particular database on a sql server 2005 server.
I can add the AD group as dbreader of this database.. but
the users can't connect to the database with ODBC.
Any idea?

Hi EdenXia,
Transparant tunneling will only be active when needed.
(automatic handshaking with client and Pix)
So if you are behind e.g. a NAPT router, transparant tunneling will be active.
Note: I use client version 3.6.3

Hi iiiiss,
If you upgrade you pix software to version 6.3(1) you can enable transparant tunneling.
I have tested here and it works fine..
Transparant tunneling is not enabled by default. You can
enable it with: isakmp nat-traversal 60

I have found the solution
The problem wad not caused by the access-list... The problem was that the IP address used for Dynamic NAT/PAT translation was the broadcast address for our sub-net.

Hi Yizhar,
Many thanks for your response..
I have contacted the provider and they told me that the solution must be NAPT aware. (ESP encapsulated in UDP or TCP)
Is this the so called "transparant tunneling"..??
