Didn't plan on going to the unversity till I found out that my AS would articulate for my admission into the Information Systems Technology program so now I plan on going all the way.
I am having trouble finding an entry level tech job even with my AS degree b/c I have no "real world"...
I probably should have clarified that I already have an AS degree in Computer Engineering and am working on my BS at the university, I have taken A+ hardware and OS classes and have been working on computers since i was 13...
While one of my proffessors highly recommended Test King I have heard Mike Meyers review material mentioned many times on this board. I am going for my A+ cert and am not sure which one is better.
I was told that the Test King reviews are very similar to the actual exams...
That was the 2003 exam now the 2006 is a 2 part exam as well but the first part is known as the "essentials" and the second part can be chosen from 3 different tests.
Nevermind it appears MS has switched it up. The MCDBA is now outdated and has been replaced by the MCTS and MCITP.
For anyone else that might be interested...

So I have been readin about the new Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist certs and was wondering it this worth pursuing or should I just go for the MCDBA? The new MCTS cert only requires one Core exam which seems a little easy, anyone have any input on this?
Not trying to second guess you or anything because I know you are very credible on these forums but do you know for a fact that it will cost that much? If so I will not wait for the 2006 exams.
Ok well while I have the post open I would like to ask a few more basic questions.
1) 2003 or 2006 or does it matter?
2) Vouchers on ebay; are they ok to use?
3) Study Material? I have the CompTIA certified
book from my A+ class last year will it be ok
or outdated?
So I read on the CompTIA website that there are 100 questions for the Essential portion with a minimum pass score of 675 and 80 questions for the IT tech portion witha min pass score of 700. Could someone tell me about what percentage of the questions I need to answer correct or how many point...
Are the guides on Certguide.com good enough to pass exams? I still havent even took my A+ yet still trying to get my AS finished but I think it would help for getting my foot in the door with an internship.
Yeh I see what you guys are saying about the CCNA and it makes sense. Only problem is that my AS Degree is with Microsoft specilization so I did not take any Cisco courses, it would seem odd to skip my MCSA or MSCE cert.
Ok that makes sense. I will follow up with my Network+ cert.
Here's another question I'm sure that is quite common. Can I find sufficient review material online to study for the A+ without spending $75 on a review from Testking or some other similar review site?
