My company is transitioning business software. In the interim, we are forced to transfer data from an IBM uniVerse database to a SQL 2000 database. I have been using a combination of Excel/ODBC and DTS to transfer the data. It works well, but it is a several step process. I've begun to...

Emails with attachments not sending attachment when forward

It has been my general experience that in order to forward an attachment, you have to save the attachment to the hard drive, and then attach it to the message you are forwarding, similar to attaching a file to any email. I have yet to see a better way to handle this, and I have Outlook 2003. Bob

Mapped drive/permission problem - XP Pro

I have an XP Pro desktop acting as an app server, and the app uses an Access 2000 database. I'm trying to install the client software (on a brand new XP Pro desktop) to access the database on the server. I've mapped a drive to the folder where the database resides, and used the mapping to...

    Word forms drop-down box question

Good day all!! I have an odd question. I'm using the drop-down form box in Word, and it appears to have a capacity of 50 characters, including spaces. Is this true, and if so, is there a workaround so that I can have a string longer than 50 characters? TIA, Bob

    Licensing

I've used Sitekeeper in demo mode, and it will give you information about licensing and it can also give you a hardware inventory. It's been a while since I've used it, but I think the demo version allows you to inventory 10 systems at a time. http://www.diskeeper.com/sitekeeper/sitekeeper.asp...

    checking for banner text

We have Nortel 4.15 clients with a Contivity 1500. I was told by my ISP (who is administering the Contivity) that the banner text is used to communicate a security disclaimer from the ISP. However, if you are getting stuck at that point, maybe the banner text can be disabled.
