'Determine' is a bit of a strong word!
I didn't even have chance to look at the event log.
Another guy on the team mentioned that some times the occasional BO server will corrupt. Was the first I'd ever heard of it happening, but it got it all working.
The reports are Crystal.
Running on BO XI R2.
The most basic of the reports are only 6 fields and one group, so it doesn't get much simpler. And the test and production installations are allegedly identical.
Will check the event viewer and try the ODBC trace, I've been patiently waiting for...
I have a collection of reports that have worked perfectly on the test installation/universe, but on production they hang when scheduled.
They work in Preview, but if scheduled (I've tried a variety of combinations of settings) the report goes to Pending, then to Running, then to Pending, then...
Summaries are calculated in Pass 1 (so whether they are in the group header or footer doesn't matter), Running Totals in Pass 2 (which is why their placement does make a difference).
I am using CR 10, as stated in the title of my post.
I suspect the issue is either to do with the way Remedy...
I have created a simple report that distinct counts the number of people by country.
However, I get different totals if I run the Report with different criteria. So Germany shows 720 people when I run the report against everything, but shows 2434 if I run it just for Germany. (and various...
Anybody got any clues as to why:
select distinct count (a.serv_dept_id) as Number_of_Teams, a.incident_id
from
act_reg a
group by
a.incident_id
is ignoring the 'distinct' bit and behaving as a normal 'count'?
Am reporting against an sql server db and using crystal 10 (not that either of...
Hooray. Turns out that my updated details on Vue had not been transfered to BO, so my original certificate had gone to an old address.
I am now the proud owner of a CRCP certificate. :-/
But as a warning to anyone else, if you change your details on the Vue website, it may be worth contacting...
To answer pepperdec, no: I am still certificate-less. I have been waiting 4 months. At least they are consistent with their ineptitude.
And to anyone thinking of taking the exams, don't. Just say you have, as no one has a certificate to prove it anyway...
Difficult to answer that. Some places/people like qualifications a lot and so it could make all the difference but it doesn't prove you know anything much about report writing.
It depends on your own situation really, but don't get disheartened if you don't pass first time because there is a...
In answer to the 64 parameters question:
I also got that question, can't remember what I answered, but when I got home I put 70 parameters in a report (I'm sad like that) and it didn't complain. Granted, I don't know if the question meant just putting them in the report or using them, which...
Of course BO hold courses aimed specifically at the CRCP, but I haven’t done any of them so can’t comment. What I did do though, was download the course content list from their website and then lookup everything in the Crystal’s help file. That pretty much gets you 90% of what you need (it is...
I have just taken the two CRCP exams for CR XI and felt the need to comment.
First some info / comments that maybe useful to others taking this route.
Pass marks:
Exam 1: 70% (45 questions)
Exam 2: 75% (40 questions)
Time: about 80 ish minutes each, I was finished in 30, including checking...
I have also just failed the 3rd exam with 70%, and am not sure what I would do differently on a re-sit. I found some of the questions vague and have ordered the All-in-one guide in the hope of getting some clarity. How useful did you find that book?
I think the thing you sign at the beginning...
I'm trying to use InRepeatedGroupHeader to conditionally format a textbox with "Continued.." in it. However, it seems to ignore whether or not the group stretches across numerous pages. Can anyone shed some light on this?
