Exchange 2003 Management Tools Install on 2008

I'm trying to get the exchange 2003 management tools installed on 2008 as I am running this on my desktop. I've followed the Vista workaround by copying the exchange dll's over and registering them, but i seem to get a fatal error everytime I try to create or delete a mailbox. The tabs...

    Difficult trust problem between forests

Sorry this is a 2003 question. Both DC's are 2003. I haven't tried root hints. I don't think this will work, because this DC is also a DNS server. If a do a root hint on the DMZ DNS server for company.com, any request made to this DNS server that it is unable to find in its own DNS cache, it...

    Active directory design

Couple of thoughts.... 1) What is the purpose of the 5 different forests in the network? If they are not needed, why not.... 2) Is DFS already in place? Are there local file servers at all sites? 3) When users access the shares, what server is authenticating them? Where are the Global...

I have a dmz.local forest that hosts our dmz. I also have a company.com domain that hosts our internal domain. I am trying to setup a one way trust between the two. The difficult part, is that the dmz.local DC contains a DNS zone called company.com that is used to host the public namespace...

    Forest Trust Without DNS

I need to setup a forest trust that does not rely on DNS. Both Domain Controllers (2003) will have DNS installed, but I need to find a way for the trust relation to use either LMHosts or Hosts file entries. Is this even possible???

Forest Trust w/ DMZ: DNS Zones are the same

The other piece of the puzzle is that we have many internal DC's that are in serperate physical sites. Which one should I open the firewall to allow traffic to?

Forest Trust w/ DMZ: DNS Zones are the same

I have a problem in that my DMZ hosts a DNS zone that is the same as my internal Domain. I now want to setup a trust between the internal Domain and DMZ domain. The problem is that the trust cannot be setup because both forests contain the same DNS zones. I can setup DNS forwarding on the...

Move SMS Collection from Parent to Child

Drag and drop works, however, if I drag it from the parent to the child, it remains locked. It will not migrate between the 2 databases. Final resolve was to manually recreate all the collections on the child database and remove them from the parent. Thanks again for your advice.

Move SMS Collection from Parent to Child

Is there a way to move an SMS collection from the parent site, to a child site? The child site is a site database. My issue is that i want an administrator to be able to manage the collections on the child site. But the collection was setup on the parent site. Therefore, it appears locked...

Custom App Hard Coded to C:\

w33mhz, Mapping the e:\ to the c:\ defeats my purpose of remapping the c:\. Nertwork Design

I'm also going to be putting an exchange server in. I think it would be better in a domain environment. It would simplify licensing and user management across the few servers.

    Nertwork Design

I understand the need for AD in an environment with many end-users. In this particular environment, we will not have any end-users, except for the other w2k3 servers. No print services or file servers. It is a web-front environment. Public website for customers, including a SQL backend for...
