So how are you implementing the wallpaper then? If you do this via GPO it will be silent and take affect when the user logs in.
Are you trying to change it on the fly in the middle of the day?"
We want to do it on a specific date / time ie Thursday @ 09:00.
Problem is we have users who don't...
Logging off and back on does the trick but doesn't solve my problem I want it to be totally silent.

Well that I guess is another question I have. I was asked by a guy who has now left. After installing R2 he couldn't get the 'new' adminitrative tools installed.
to quote his mail
'Here’s what I did... After installing R2 you still need to install the new administrative tools as they are not...
Hi,
Has anyone successfully managed to install the new administrative tools on R2?
If anyone who has could tell me how they did it I'd be much obliged !!
Thanks in advance
rmovie :-) I'll look at the WM_SETTINGCHANGE method but by the time i've worked it out it'll be quicker for me to package & distribute it either a) silently and will be picked up when user next reboots or b) normal package asking user to reboot - bit dramatic for a font update. Can't see where...

I have Project Server 2003 installed on Windows 2003. IIS is set to Intergrated Windows Authentication.
From an XP client I can't connect to the server using Project Pro 2003. I get the ' Project Server has returned an unexpected...
I get the following reported for one of my servers :-

I have Project 2003 server installed.
I can connect no problem using IE explorer however when I try with Project 2003 client I get HTTP 401.2 errors. To me this suggests permissions problems with the IIS on the server. When I look at the permissions they look ok and i've done some testing...
We have Networker 6.2 on Solaris. We have a jukebox with two LTO I tape devices.
Our full backup of approximately 500 Gb this weekend took 24 hours to back up and a further 55 hours to clone this data.
Looking at previous posts i've seen that due to multiplexing savesets over multiple volumes...
For those of you who have upgraded to networker 7 can you tell me if you've found the cost / pain worth it in terms of increased functionality / reliability.
What i'm paticuarly interested in is if it's improved backing up through firewalls. Has it brought down the thousands of ports that have...
...file which has the toolbar settings. What I want to do is import Excel 2000 toolbar settings into a Excel 2003 installation. I can't find any *.xlb files on a Office 2003 installation. Is there anyway I can migrate a Excel 2000 xlb file into a Office 2003 installation ?
Thanks in Advance.
I think wallace88 has covered all bases but I'll let you know one of my experiences which sounds familiar. We had a file server of approximately 60 Gb and it only backed up about 35 % of this on a full dump.
On doing a manual backup the same thing happened. Looking at the logs I saw that...
I have the following answer for my problem. First impressions look like it works :-)
Set "NSR_AVOID_ARCHIVE=yes" as a system variable on your Windows 2000 server and reboot this Windows server. After that NetWorker will NOT look for the archive bit when determining to back up this...
The variation in write speed was explained to me about a month ago on this forum. Basically if the files are big you will get good through put times. If it's lots of small files the speed will drop to kb/ps due to continuously having to write to its buffer and oraganise positioning.
You...
At present before we get the hardware to allow us to backup our Net App filer via NDMP we back it up via an NT server.
We backup the snapshots as recommended. However we can't find a way of performing an incremental backup. I think it has something to do with not being able to set the...
In the past we've split a server into two and put in different groups where amount of data was to much to do in one day.
ie
Monday - Server 1, Save Sets A & B.
Tuesday - Server 1, Save Sets C & D.
If they're in the same group it can't be for this reason. Maybe he thought it was you got...
Hi,
whilst backing up we're getting anything from speeds of 21 MB /s to 180 Kb / s.
Anyone know why there's such a descrepency and how we could make it stay up the high end of through put speed a bit longer ? I've played around with parrelelism but this doesn't seem to have had much effect...
